Seyyed Hossein Nasr is considered one of the contemporary Traditionalist figures. In his works, he has addressed various subjects such as Islam, Sufism, spirituality, nature, sacred science, and art. Among the topics that can be traced in Nasr's writings is aesthetics. However, the present article does not seek to merely reconstruct traditional Iranian aesthetics; rather, its question is: To what extent is Nasr's aesthetics formed based on intertextual relations, relying on Laurent Jenny's viewpoint? In other words, the present article attempts to reveal the intertextual relations of Nasr's aesthetics with other texts, and to achieve this goal, it utilizes Jenny's theory of intertextuality. The research result shows that the Platonic-Neoplatonic perspective of the Traditionalists on one hand, Nasr's affinity for Muslim mystics such as Ibn Arabi on the other, and also the influence of earlier Traditionalists like Schuon on Nasr, have placed his aesthetics within intertextual relations.
