Coordinates of understanding in contemporary epistemology and its cases in Rumi's works

The main axis of epistemology in many periods has been the discussion of knowledge, not understanding. In this article, by referring to the works written in contemporary epistemology, the features of understanding have been examined. They consider understanding as an epistemological state that includes explaining the relationships between a set of propositions. The purpose of this research is to find out what is meant by saying that we have understood something and what is the difference from saying that we have known something, from Rumi's point of view.
In this research, which has been carried out with a descriptive-analytical method, with careful attention to the thought of Rumi, it is clear that he also considered similar features for understanding. Of course, his epistemology also determines the upper limit for understanding, which is the state arising from intuition. What is interpreted as understanding is also mentioned in Rumi's works with other words such as seeing, hearing and becoming enlightened.
