Abstract
Over the centuries, the creation of noble and valuable works in the field of painting has led to the cultural stability, growth and development of art in Iran. Decorative motifs and presentations in written works in the form of the art of illumination are considered to be the main parts of book layout. One of the artists with a style in the field of calligraphy and illumination is Roozbahan Shirazi. He was a genius of calligraphy and illumination of his era in the 10th century of the Hijri.
By adhering to the principles and foundations of design and aesthetics, he was able to promote his innovations in illumination designs as a common style among his contemporaries. Roozbehan's style of illumination has been imitated by other religions since his lifetime, and his innovations in the designs and methods of performing illumination have become enduring traditions in illumination.
Roozbahan's works, and in particular his Quran, which is kept in the Chesterbeat Library in Dublin, are considered masterpieces of Iranian book design.The question of this research is to examine what are the unique features of Roozbahan's Quran in the Chesterbeat Library?
It provides a detailed description of the decorations used in the Chesterbeattie Quran and analyzes the unique features of its arrangements, including the use of more than 3,500 decorative vertical columns, which are worked in several different designs and a diverse.The final twenty pages of this Quran, which have a wide range of decorations, are among the items examined in this study.
